Garuda Barre

The Garuda exercise method is developped by UK Instructor, James d’Silva, as a hybrid combination of Pilates, dance, tai chi, yoga, and gyro. Garuda’s results are striking. Increased strength, flexibility co-ordination and endurance, with a greater sense of ease and well-being. Garuda offers a cardiovascular workout while teaching the principle of relaxation within movement. The result is a stronger, leaner body, improved posture and mental ease

WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER DONE PILATES, BARRE or CIRCUIT CLASS BEFORE?

In our experience, it is preferable for you to do an initial private Pilates session, before commencing a group class. This will introduce you to Pilates principles and for our instructors to find out about your health and exercise history. This will help us plan the best, most effective class for you.

This will be a 30 minute private session with a Pilates instructor. Cost: $60 for ½ Hr

If you have specific pathologies (eg. Recent low back injury and pain), you may need to do a full hour Pilates initial assessment with a physiotherapist, and complete some studio Pilates sessions first. This will help you deal safely with the specific condition or pathology, before commencing mat or barre work.

Cost: $95 for One hour with a Pilates Instructor and $120 with a Physiotherapist

Current clients at Evolution Pilates and MG Pilates, who have had an initial assessment and who have Pilates mat and studio experience, are not required to do an initial half hour assessment. Current mat and barre teachers and dancers are not required to do an initial assessment, unless they have specific injury issues they wish to have assessed and managed.
