Physiotherapist and Clinical Pilates Practitioner
A highly experienced Physiotherapist, Seamus has worked for the past 20 years across the globe from Sydney, to Melbourne, to Perth, to London and even the remote Outer Hebrides in Scotland. He has provided clinical care in a variety of settings including private practice, pain clinics, rehabilitation hospitals and has experience coordinating multi-disciplinary pain services.
Seamus is particularly interested in helping people from a biopsychosocial perspective, meaning that he assesses different social, cognitive and emotional factors and how they interact with our biology to produce each individuals unique experience of health and illness. Using Pilates to help treat chronic pain is one of his major clinical focuses.
In 2021 he will finish his PhD in the Sociology of Health investigating why a shift in societies understanding of pain has not occurred, despite scientific advances that have occurred over the past 30 years.
